Sharon has a stroke, USC chokes
Well, it looks like things in the Middle East/West Bank are about to get another shake up. As pretty much everybody has heard by now, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon had a massive stroke last night. Palestinians, I would think, would be upset over this (though not as much as Israelis). Sharon had just started admitting that Palestine had right to land in the Gaza Strip, something no other Israeli PM had done before. You can find a timeline of the major events in Sharon's life here.
USC, USC, USC... what the hell are you doing? Reggie Bush trying to show off, facemask penalties when the defense had successfully stopped Texas' last drive, and more general fuck-ups... get it together!
Congrats, Texas Longhorns on winning the Rose Bowl.

Palestenians are upset? they're throwing Knafe' and baklawa (cookies for holidays) in the street now.
I'm Israeli, and i know about this, i've seen them celebrating, even their "diplomats" are wishing him death, in public.
Sharon is a hero, but he'll never be able to lead Israel, again =(

No... they should be upset. If they would just give up the martyr-mentality for a minute and take an honest evaluation of events, they would realize that Sharon has been offering them honest compromises since the late 90s in an effort to bring peace. They don't see that he is in his every right to react to terror with force, but when given a chance, he is trying to make the situation better for both sides. His leadership is definitely going to be missed.

They should, they should also stop terrorism and encouraging 11 years old kids of going to terror camp instead of learning, they should, but do they go as they should? no.

Is it an all-of-them situation, though? Are the videos on the news reflective of the culture as a whole, or are the media outlets just using the most infammatory examples of palestinian behavior?

oh, and a.h. can you tell me the html code to add categorized archives to my blog? I want to be able to group posts by topic but can't figure out how to do it...I haven't really looked much either though :)

Jayk, if you meant that the media is inflating the behaviour, that might be, but i'm sure no camera can make a palestnien leader say that Sharon deserves to die, nor make Hamas (terror group) throw cookies in cars, that are blowing their horn with pride(!)

About archiving, i have no idea...you use a different system than my one, and i'm not sure you have access to your database files...

Well, Hamas is the lowest organization on the planet; I can’t say I am surprised about them celebrating. Any organization that does positive humanitarian work for its people for the sole purpose in gaining sympathy for their inhumane terrorist behavior should be run off the planet. You live in Israel, and I have never actually gotten to ask an Israeli this: what do the people in your country feel about the whole situation? Would most like to give up the land to try to stop the terror, or is it worth all of the fighting? Is the West Bank as important to you as it is to the Palestinians, or would you rather just live in peace? Note that I am not suggesting that you stand for the suicide bombs or any of that. Israel has every right to respond with full force to avenge those meaningless deaths. I just am interested in whether this land marked holy is that sacred to the people on the street as it is to the leaders and international media.
